St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner, and given that it falls on a Monday this year, we are beginning the celebration tonight! I’m sure you will have no problems finding St. Patrick’s Day parties around town this weekend, and by Monday you may need to take things down a notch. I know we plan to party hard all weekend, but then enjoy a modest celebration on Monday with some homemade Corned Beef and Cabbage and a few pints of great Irish beer. Whether you’re partying hard or just chilling at home, certainly you have time for a boozy dessert cocktail this St. Patrick’s Day. Yessir, we’re talking about the Shamrock Shake. We whipped up a boozy version of this creamy, minty milkshake tonight. We incorporated a few Irish liquors for good measure, and though the photos didn’t come out too great, you have to trust me that the shakes were delicious! We hope this inspires you to make a few Boozy Shamrock Shakes of your own!
Boozy Shamrock Shake
- 1.5 ounces crème de menthe liqueur
- 1.5 ounces Jameson Whiskey
- 1.5 ounces Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 to 4 cups vanilla ice cream (to desired consistency)
- Whipped cream and Maraschino cherries for garnish, if desired
Add liquid ingredients to blender. Top with ice cream and blend until creamy and smooth. If the shake it too sloshy, add more ice cream; if it’s too thick, well just add a bit more booze. This should make one big milkshake or two small ones, you make the call. Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream and a cherry, if desired.
